
Zsolt Szatmári
Zsolt Szatmári joined IBFD in 2017 and is currently the Managing Senior of the VAT Knowledge Group. He is the editor of several VAT, customs and excise publications and is responsible for reporting on VAT related actions taken by institutions of the European Union and the OECD. Furthermore, he is involved in training programs organized by IBFD on VAT and customs and participates in research projects.
Prior to joining IBFD, Mr. Szatmári worked as a tax advisor at Big4 advisory firms and a major multinational company in Hungary. He advised clients on a wide scope of VAT related questions and was involved in several VAT litigation projects, including cases brought before the Court of Justice of the European Union. Besides VAT, he also participated in a number of customs advisory projects.
He has a Juris Doctor degree from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, where he is a lecturer of the LLM program on International and European Taxation. He is a certified tax advisor in Hungary.
