Marcelo Antonio Gottifredi is Mercosur Arbitrator for Argentina since 2004.
He is an active member of the "Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies", “International Fiscal Association”,“Argentine Institute of Customs Studies”, “Institute of Economic Public Law of the Public Bar Association”, "Customs Law and Foreign Trade Commission of the Public College", the "Argentine Center for Criminal Tax Studies"; and a founding partner of the AduanaNews.com website and its director until 2011; he is founder and director of Mercojuris.com; and member and collaborator in other national and foreign academic institutions.
Former legal adviser of the National Customs Administration, performing, among other positions, Professor of Customs Criminal Law at several Universities and Academies. International Arbitrator appointed by the Argentine Republic to act and intervene before the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), since 2004 (L SUBIE-49/04) and extended to the present. During the year 2005, appointment as Titular Arbitrator to analyze the controversy raised by the Oriental Republic of Uruguay against the Argentine Republic on "Prohibition of Importation of Remodeled Tires" (N SCREI 79/05). Indication for fifth referee during the year 2007, which will remain firm (N DIMIN-s 115/07). Appointment by the Argentine Republic as Subrogated Arbitrator in the Permanent Court of Review during the period 2008/2010 (N SCREI 352/08), mandate extended until 2013 (CMC/DEC 16/11). Summoned as an expert in customs matters by the National Treasury Attorney, to intervene in conflicts in the Argentine Republic before ICSID - World Bank.
