Exporting basics for UK exporters

This course is for those of you who are new to exporting and for those of you who want to get a systematic understanding of the process and effectively manage related risks. This course gives you the knowledge on how to expand your UK-based business and increase profitability. It is split into several parts, each explained in detail to give you the knowledge you need and the confidence to start exporting successfully. Please plan to dedicate 4-5 hours to learning. 

Through the following modules, you will know how to properly export your products from UK:

Module 1. Understanding export

• Enquiry stage, order confirmation, insurance, exporting process. 
• Methods of getting paid: advance payment, letter of credit, documentary collection, open account payment terms.
• Exporter’s responsibilities: export packing, shipping cost, commercial invoice, tariff code, country of origin, proof of export, etc.

Module 2. Export procedures

• Commodity code, tariff classification.
• Paperwork and procedures.
• Documents to retain from freight forwarders.
• Export entry: customs export declaration.

Module 3. Export procedures

• Modes of transport.
• Insurance, hazardous goods.
• Non-preferential and preferential rules of origin, long term supplier’s declaration.

Module 4. Export procedures

• Incoterms 2020.
• Compliance and auditing, SOPs.
• Export checklist.
