What the EUDR bans - and when

It is Tuesday morning, and a container of roasted coffee is at the terminal in Rotterdam. Customs will not release it without a reference number, and the importer has four days before storage charges start. From 30 December 2026 this can be the morning of any importer whose goods fall within the scope of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The regulation reaches goods that contain or are made from cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya or wood - chocolate, tyres, furniture and leather among them. While compliance training often tells you what a regulation requires, this course teaches you to read the EUDR, so that you can answer the next question yourself. In ten minutes, working from this case, you learn which of your goods the regulation catches, which of three dates applies to your company, and what Article 3 prohibits. You finish this module with one page: your own product lines and the relevant commodity each one contains - the working document the rest of the course builds on. Module 1 of six, ten minutes each. Start before the container at the terminal is yours.
