NEW! CCRM Issue 40: the new Union Customs Code, EUDR and forced labour

Dear Reader,

From 1 March 2034, customs declarations can no longer be lodged. Importers will provide their data through the EU Customs Data Hub instead. That is one of the changes in the new Union Customs Code, published on 19 September 2026. Issue 40 of the Customs Compliance & Risk Management (CCRM) journal explains what changes and when.

Read Issue 40 online. This August/September issue covers, among other topics:

  • New Union Customs Code: what changes and when
  • EU, UK and Ukraine customs and trade: monthly news roundup
  • EU Deforestation Regulation: the product list has changed
  • Forced labour ban from 14 December 2027: what happens at the border
  • Classification of composite goods: which material decides?
  • Wrong EORI number: direct representative liable for import VAT

Questions, feedback and article ideas are welcome at info@customsclear.net.

Enjoy reading!
